Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information:

• •Account information — name, email address, and (for sellers) ship-from city, state, and ZIP code. Provided when you sign up.
• •Listing content — titles, descriptions, photos, and attributes of items you list for sale. Photos are uploaded to our storage provider and may be analyzed by our AI assistant to pre-fill listing details.
• •Transaction information — items purchased, shipping addresses, tracking numbers, and order history. Payment card details are handled directly by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.
• •Communication — messages you send us and any dispute resolution exchanges.
• •Usage data — pages viewed, search queries, listings viewed, and interactions with the platform. We track listing views to compute popularity but deduplicate so the same visitor is counted at most once per hour.
• •Device & log data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and timestamps. Used for security, fraud prevention, and debugging.
• •Error reports — when our app crashes or misbehaves, we collect technical error details (stack traces, page URLs, browser info) via Sentry to diagnose and fix issues. These reports do not include payment card details, passwords, or private message contents.

• •To provide the EpicMarine marketplace and its features.
• •To process payments, purchase shipping labels, and deliver orders.
• •To send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, payout notifications, dispute notices).
• •To analyze listing photos with AI and pre-fill listing details, estimate shipping dimensions, and classify items.
• •To compute listing popularity and surface relevant listings in browse and search.
• •To detect and prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
• •To improve the platform, debug issues, and respond to support inquiries.

EpicMarine uses the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

• •Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
• •Stripe — payment processing and seller payouts. Stripe handles all card information directly; we never see or store your card number.
• •EasyPost — shipping rates, label purchases, and tracking. Shipping addresses are shared with EasyPost and the carrier you select (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.).
• •Anthropic (Claude) — AI analysis of uploaded listing photos. Photos are sent to Anthropic for processing and are not used by Anthropic for model training.
• •Sentry — error monitoring and performance tracking.
• •Vercel — web hosting and serverless functions.
• •Resend — transactional email delivery.

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• •Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• •Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• •Deletion — ask us to delete your account and personal data, subject to legal obligations (we must retain transaction records for tax and dispute resolution purposes).
• •Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• •Opt out of sale — EpicMarine does not sell personal information to third parties.

EpicMarine uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and to secure the platform. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

We retain your account information and transaction records for as long as your account is active, plus up to 7 years after account closure to comply with tax and legal obligations. Listing photos and AI analysis data for active listings are retained until you delete the listing. Error reports are retained for 90 days.

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, row-level security policies on our database, and secret rotation for sensitive credentials. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

EpicMarine is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

EpicMarine currently operates within the continental United States. If you access the platform from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before taking effect.
