Seller Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of EpicMarine as a seller. By listing an item you agree to the following.

Effective April 9, 2026

1. Eligibility

To sell on EpicMarine you must be at least 18 years old and maintain a valid Stripe-connected account in good standing. You are responsible for ensuring that your account information, including payout details, is accurate and up to date.

2. Listing Accuracy

All listings must accurately represent the item being sold. You agree to:

  • Provide honest, detailed descriptions of each item's condition, including any defects, wear, or damage.
  • Upload real, unaltered photos that accurately depict the item.
  • Select the correct condition rating (New, Like New, Good, Fair).
  • Disclose any corrosion, water damage, UV degradation, or saltwater exposure.
  • Specify compatibility information (boat make, model, year) when applicable.

3. Pricing & Fees

You set the listing price for your items. EpicMarine charges an 8% platform fee that is automatically deducted from the sale price when a transaction completes. There are no listing fees, monthly fees, or hidden charges. The buyer pays for shipping separately.

4. Shipping Obligations

When an item sells, you must:

  • Ship the item within 5 business days of the sale.
  • Use the pre-paid shipping label provided by EpicMarine (powered by EasyPost). Do not use your own carrier accounts.
  • Package items securely and appropriately for their size and fragility. Marine parts should be protected against moisture and corrosion during transit.
  • Ensure the package weight and dimensions match what was entered at listing time.

Failure to ship within the required window may result in automatic order cancellation and a refund to the buyer.

5. Escrow & Payouts

Buyer payments are held securely in escrow via Stripe until the item is delivered and the 4-day inspection window has passed. Once the inspection window closes without a dispute, funds (minus the 8% platform fee) are captured into your connected Stripe balance. Your Stripe account is configured for a weekly payout schedule, so all released sales are bundled into a single deposit each Friday and typically land in your linked bank account the following Monday or Tuesday. You will receive one predictable weekly deposit rather than a trickle of small payments.

6. Prohibited Items

The following items may not be listed on EpicMarine:

  • Hazardous materials (flares, fuel, batteries containing acid, compressed gases).
  • Stolen property or items you do not have the legal right to sell.
  • Counterfeit or replica parts represented as genuine.
  • Items that require special licensing or permits to sell or ship (e.g., certain EPIRBs, regulated electronics).
  • Complete vessels, trailers, or engines over 25 HP.

EpicMarine reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these restrictions without notice.

7. Disputes & Returns

Buyers may open a dispute within 7 days of delivery if the item is not as described. When a dispute is opened:

  • Escrowed funds are held until the dispute is resolved.
  • You must respond to the dispute within 48 hours.
  • EpicMarine will mediate and make a final determination based on the listing details, photos, and both parties' communications.
  • If the item is found to be materially different from the listing description, you are responsible for return shipping costs and the buyer will receive a full refund.

8. Account Suspension

EpicMarine may suspend or permanently close your seller account for:

  • Repeated listing inaccuracies or misrepresentations.
  • Failure to ship items within the required timeframe.
  • Fraudulent activity, including shill bidding or manipulation of reviews.
  • Listing prohibited items.
  • Violation of any other provision of these terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

EpicMarine operates as a marketplace platform that connects buyers and sellers of marine parts and equipment. EpicMarine is not a party to the transaction between buyer and seller. We do not inspect, certify, or guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed. To the maximum extent permitted by law, EpicMarine's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform as a seller shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to EpicMarine in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

EpicMarine may update these Seller Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of EpicMarine as a seller after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
